operation analysis

[note: video coming shortly]
For my operation analysis i decided to use my alarm clock, although i would like to move beyond clocks.

My alarm clock is actually pretty easy to operate. The 2 basic functions are identical in operation: setting the time and setting wake time.

task 1. Setting the Time

1. move set to “Time”

2. hold down the “Fwd” or “Rev” until you reach the desired time

3. move set to “Lock”

task 2. Setting Wake Time

1. move set to “Wake”

2. hold down the “Fwd” or “Rev” until you reach the desired time

3. move set to “Lock”

Analysis: Like I said earlier this was a pretty easy process, the only annoying task was holding down the “Fwd” or “Rev” button until I reached the desired time. Many times i noticed it required a lot of attention and slight bit of stress because of not wanting to go past the time.

time telling device for the blind

This time telling device for the blind allows a person to know the current time by letting them moving their hand across the device. The device will consist of 24 cylinders, 12 cylinders on each side, the left side is for the hour and the right is for minutes. At the current hour the cylinder for that hour will rise while the other cylinders remain flat, the minutes work in the same way.

The clock can also be used for the non-blind by having the cylinders light up for the current hour.
